Project: “Khizi-3” Windfarm Project

Project Location: Khizi Region
ACWA Power would like to update the local community of proposed amendments to the project area for the Wind Project planned to be developed and built in the mountainous part of Absheron region. The project area is shown in the map below.
The Project will have a capacity up to 160 MW using a maximum number of 65 turbines. The location of the wind turbines, substations, cables and access roads will be within this area as shown in Map below, but will not cover the entirety of the project footprint. Once operational, the project area will not be fenced and access will be allowed.
The proposed updates are as follows:
- The possible addition of 9 turbines including access roads and necessary cables to the west of the Project (highlighted in green in Map above)
- Several additional turbines might be included to the Wind Farm and will be within the area shown above (highlighted in Blue and Red in Map above)
As disclosed earlier in May 2020, the Project is part of Azerbaijan’s energy system and will contribute to the further diversification of the economy, giving added impetus to the Azerbaijan Government Policy for increasing sustainable development including renewable energy supplies.
